GARDEN OF WILTZ

It is a public garden of 2.5 ha. All the plantations, earthworks, sculptures and stone fields form a living work of art at Gruberbeerig (rue de la Montagne). This garden is laid out and maintained by people with disabilities, long-term unemployed, participants of temporary workshops, artisans and artists. The "Wiltz Garden" project was initiated in 1983 by the artist group "Der Blaue Kompressor" (the blue compressor).
The members of the group have developed models of artistic intervention in the public space and in the social environment.
In 1990, the non-profit association Cooperations was founded by individuals and organizations of Wiltz to establish a forum for the interaction of the arts, social integration, education and rural development and to offer projects, workshops and training for an interested audience. The garden is open to the public throughout the year.
